Christmas 2011 visit to Uruguay

Montevideo, Uruguay

Dec. 26 2011 - Jan. 6 2012

This short program will be a special visit to Montevideo, Uruguay. Departing December 26, 2011 and returning January 6th. This ten day visit would include living with local families, learning about the culture of Uruguay, its government, education (the first country in the world to provide a laptop to every public school child) their economy and the relationship with its huge neighbors Argentina and Brazil. The students would have an opportunity to meet people from these two countries as many families are vacationing at Uruguay's splendid beaches. Remember, its summertime in the Southern hemisphere!

The students would have an opportunity to perform any music and dances with an American/Christmas theme for their hosts, extended family members and friends including any U.S. and other citizens living in Montevideo.

The Consul General of Uruguay, based in Los Angeles, The Honorable Enrique Loedel Soca has offered to come to New Mexico prior to our departure to meet and educate us about Uruguay.

This journey to this unique country promises to be a true and unforgettable experience.

The cost for the journey is $2,100. This includes transportation from Albuquerque to Montevideo and return, local transportation and any meals and accommodations. A non- refundable deposit of $300 is needed no later than November 4th with the balance due December 20th.

Students interested must apply on line and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the program.
